6th class weekly activities

In 6th class this week we timed ourselves carrying the cones from one place to another, 3 at a time. The plan was to beat our time by the end of the week and we BLEW IT AWAY by 31 seconds!!!!
As it is difficult to get 6th class to dance independently so every day we did "Just Dance" activities to get them dancing and having fun.

Partnerships - Brunell Basketball

Each Monday during the Winter months, Linda from Brunell Basketball club comes up to Scoil Padre Pio to help teachers give some basketball drills and skills to our students.

All class ages take part in activities that enhance travelling, dribbling and shooting skills.

Partnerships - St Vincents

Scoil Padre Pio are delighted that Anthony Long of St.Vincent's GAA is coaching in our school. Anthony is currently supporting teachers in the delivery of Gaelic football lessons and the ABC/ Have a ball programme. This week the children learned how to solo run and punt kick a football.

Win, lose or draw tomorrow we know that all of these boys and girls will give it their all!!!
We are very proud of them already and tomorrow will just be the icing on the cake. Hopefully both boys and girls can come away with the wins.. The whole school is behind them.

Senior Infants

Our Senior Infants took part in some fun activities during school this week!
They learned the Haka as Gaeilge as part of the dance strand of P.E.

They also took part in some kids yoga to loosen out after a very active week!

Healthy Ireland Day

We did a number of activities to promote health and fitness.

We started with 9@9 in the morning, at lunch time we did races in the yard, a tug of war, and finally a penalty shootout!

Every Friday we do 9@9 where the children do 9 minutes of exercise with Mr. Neville before going into class. The children and staff take part!!
